Wynnum Wading Pool
Council lists no entry fee for the park, and Brisbane Kids says the pool has no set hours. It's tidal, so go near high tide, when it fills.

Cost, hours and parking
The wading pool sits in Wynnum Wading Pool Park, at 137 Wynnum Esplanade. Council lists the park's Aqua Park as open 24 hours. That's the Aqua Park, not the pool, and Council publishes no separate hours for the pool. Brisbane Kids says the pool has no specific opening hours.
You'll find a car park on site and parking along the esplanade.

The pool
The pool is around 128 by 54 metres. Depth at the centre is about 75 centimetres. It fills with seawater through concrete pipes at high tide. Brisbane Kids describes a rim of concrete steps and several ramps into the water.
Council's Aqua Park page says to always keep an eye on your children, and suggests supervising from a picnic shelter, seating area or under a tree close by. It doesn't mention lifeguards or water-quality testing, and neither do the independent sources we checked.

Playground and facilities
Council promotes the upgraded playground here. New features include a shipwreck structure, beach cubby houses and sand play. Large trees and shade sails cover it.
Council's Aqua Park page lists public toilets, barbecues and seating. The Aqua Park's water-play area is part of the same park. Brisbane Kids adds shaded and sheltered picnic tables around the pool.

Accessibility
Brisbane Kids reports wheelchair-accessible toilets next to the pool and several wheelchair-friendly ramps into it. Council's Aqua Park page doesn't mention accessibility, so this isn't Council-confirmed. Check on site.

Nearby
The Council heritage trail starts at this park. For the route and for food afterwards, see Wynnum Foreshore and its nearby food section. The mangrove boardwalk is a separate walk.
History
Council's heritage trail says the pool was built in the 1930s under government work schemes during the Great Depression. The Queensland Heritage Register dates construction to 1932, under the Unemployment Relief Scheme. Wikipedia gives the opening as 21 January 1933, with hundreds of people attending.
The register lists the pool as a rare example of early wading-pool technology of its type in Queensland. Wikipedia dates that listing to 5 October 1998. Wikipedia also records a $6.5 million upgrade, reopened on 13 July 2008. We couldn't load the register's own page, so the 1998 listing date, the 1933 opening and the 2008 reopening come from Wikipedia's summary, not from Council or the register directly.
